The problem with that request is it's really a test of self control.

It would have to be a setting, and one that only works when you are logged in.

So you'd have to have the self-control to A) Not change the settings back and B) Not just log out.  You'd log out and you could see the votes. 

I've experienced various forms of something like this.  There is something you want to do but shouldn't. So you make it harder for yourself. But eventually you get tired of that extra step. So you make it easier again.

So it's better to just work on the issue of "big number good" instead of trying to add a hurdle.
