Forums - Gaming - Name a defunct video game series you would like to see resurrected

For me Breath of Fire

I know technically we had 6 in 2016 but

A) It only released in Japan
B) It was an online multiplayer game only released on windows, android and iOS
C) It was apparently so terrible they shut it down in a year and half

So for me the last Breath of Fire game was more then 20 years ago in 2002 and I really loved that series

Chibi-Robo: I'd love another sequel that is on modern hardware with an international release.

The amount of times a long-defunct, great series got resurrected and lived up to the originals is probably in the 1% area, so I would vote to just make new games instead. These things are almost always a let down. I'm tired of being let down. Actually, I'm over it.

Chrono, I guess technically it's a series with Trigger and Cross. The best game of all time in Trigger, and a good game in Cross.  Wizards and Warriors from Rare.

Dino Crisis. What I would do to get a new game in the wake of modern Resident Evil’s.

Punch-Out!!

Maybe a bit of a risky franchise these days, but I never really saw the characters as mean stereotypes.

X Com is pretty much dead for all I know. Almost 10 years since the last game and no signs of a new one. So I'd pick X Com!

Played Legacy of Kain remastered recently. It's very clunky and full of PS1 issues, but it could work much better with modern day engines

Final Fantasy Tactics never getting a sequel or even a spiritual sucessor is just diabolical

Let’s see. TimeSplitters for sure. I appreciate the timeline-hopping campaigns and the accessible, uncomplicated multiplayer. Offline bots FTW.

I’d love more Banjo-Kazooie, but I wouldn’t want Rare or Microsoft anywhere near it — so I guess that’s a pipe dream. And, honestly, Nintendo has sort of met the demand with games like Super Mario Odyssey and Donkey Kong Bananza.

I know we’re getting a new Turok soon, but I would enjoy something in the spirit of the original trilogy and Rage Wars.

I’d love to see Nintendo green-light new installments for Star Fox, Excite, Wave Race, 1080, and F-Zero (I know we got F-Zero 99 recently, but it’s not quite the new experience I’m searching for).

Lunar, if they could get Kei Shigema, Toshyuki Kubooka, and Noriyuki Iwadare on board for one.

Eh sometimes it works, look at Ninja Gaiden and Silent Hill
