Forums - Gaming - Xbox is dead in france

Where is Xbox ?

Xbox is dead. They have a section, but Fnac sections are like this : the biggest section is Nintendo, then PlayStation, and Xbox has a section with only controllers, maybe 1 or 2 consoles, and that’s it. The section is hidden, it’s all the way to the left and really small.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Ride The Chariot | ‘25 Completion

That has been a thing in Fnac for a long time, we had a big game collection in Fnac but they have been reducint it the last years including Media Markt, their is still a Switch and PS section but it has become so bare bones. How more digital it gets how smaller the sections become...

It's dead everywhere, imo.

Ok, be for real now, how many of you thought this was going to be Nintendo’s fate 10 years ago? Does Microsoft have that comeback kid spirit in them like Nintendo?

Microsoft absolutely does not have that comeback kid spirit lol. Whereas Nintendo spent the entire Wii U generation working on course correction measures behind the scenes (and explicitly detailed to investors), Microsoft higher-ups (in particular, Phil Spencer) have gone around, waving their arms, saying “There’s nothing we could have done nor can do. :(“

People in power hold too much pride. It’s a scar to their ego if they confess that they’ve done a poor job at fixing an issue, so they opt to take the easy route of blaming everything else, ensuring a downward spiral.

I'm big enough to admit that in like 2015-early 2017 I honestly expected "NX" would fail and that Nintendo would go third party. Back then it seemed like they just couldn't get anything right and their mindshare was at an all time low. Glad to have been wrong.
