Forums - General - Do You Stack?

I've been a precious metal and coin stacker for over 25 years.  I've never sold, only accumulate. When I first started I was into numismatic value, but as I grew older/wiser, I've switched to getting the most bang for the buck which is near spot bullion.

With the gold and silver prices skyrocketing right now, I'm starting to experience FOMO and just threw some money at it today.

So, out of curiosity, any gold/silver/platinum stackers in here?

The United States Gold Buffalos are my go to for gold.

For platinum, I went with some of these.  These are harder to liquidate, so I won't be adding anymore to the stack.

With silver, I'm less picky.  I just try to acquire the most for less.

For my order today, I picked up 6 of these.  These are just random as far as what they decide to ship me.  I hope all 6 are different and old looking.

Also picked up a roll of 20 of these.

My family and I use to, but then when our oxen drowned and everyone got dysentery, we went for the Beanie Babies instead.

I always wanted to with rare curreny but just never got started past a few coins. I had the dinominations of the Irish pound before the euro took over from specific dates like my birth year but I've no idea where they are and even if I found them I can't imagine expanding them. I'd say it would be beyond my means as a hobby.

Edit. Oh, I thought this was about coins and not the metal cards. I don't see the financial future in metals anymore though, not with AI coming and we won't know what the global redistribution of wealth will look like. It might be useless in a few years.

Not trying to be the dissenter here.

But, DK, you do realize you can't take it with you?

All of us will die, someday, and everything we have ever owned, will be gone as well.

The reason that I am saying this is because I'm still throwing out the crap that my parents bought in the 60s/70s/80s.

What a complete waste of my time !!!

I recently retired.  With the dollar being devalued, I thought it wise to move chunks of it into something that can help it retain its value.  I'm not worried about being able to afford things after I die.  Just making sure I can afford stuff for the later years of my life whilst I'm alive.

Edit: I plan on having to sell at some point and if my demise occurs before the need to dip into it, then my family can reap my spoils.

I dont do coin collecting but collecting/investing in metals like Gold is the way to go

I dont collect coins but I do have gold jewelry which is stashed away at a bank.

I'm not fond of wearing it but investing in it as a asset for the future.

The only gold I do wear is the ones that matter to me to wear it lol

-My grandma's gold chain which she gave me before she passed away
-My wedding ring which has my wife's name on it
-My other ring which has one of my nicknames
