It should. Steam Deck is the equivalent of a base PS4 power wise, or maybe a little more, so Switch 2 should be able to handle the game. FF7 Rebirth was made with last gen tech that even the Switch 1 supported.

Lmao!

I dont have a Steam Deck (mainly because game time isnt logged) but I'm absolutely excited for Rebirth to come out (even though I already have it on PS5....) - I got Rebirth pre-ordered already and been playing Remake (having so much fun!)

Switch 2 supports DLSS so all we need is 480p native and let Jensen's magic do the rest.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a real challenge for any console. I remember when I was also looking for a game similar to the classic Final Fantasy. I couldn't remember its name for a long time and had almost resigned myself to the fact that it was lost in my memory forever. But thanks to the https://linkinpaws.com/ service, I quickly got an answer to my question. Thanks to the community and the opportunity to ask questions to experienced players, I again felt that nostalgia and joy of finding my favorite game. And now, when I'm going to play Rebirth, I already know where to look for tips on passing and setting up.

Good news for Steam Deck players and maybe good news for Switch 2 players.
I feel like Switch, Xbox Series S, and other devices have opened the floodgates for games you wouldn't normally see simultaneous releases or ports to. And Switch 2 should just expand that. While I'm not trying to get my hopes up, it's not insanely unlikely for a new Final Fantasy game with PS5 in mind to come to Switch 2.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 40 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

While there's more and more games it struggles with it's nice to see the Steam Deck still getting big optimized releases like this nearly a full three years later. The 3rd part will probably only run properly on a Steam Deck 2 but the current one should be about 6-7 years old by then so that's ok.
