It's abouts five solid weeks away and looks stronger than ever, as someone who's sick of the teen drama nonsense and real life school setting in Atlus games but still wants to delve in and enjoy the core systems this is incredibly hyped for me. Lots of people have had hands on so I'm cherry picking from a BIG pool of content here.

Post previews, video pieces, screenshot and your hype level below. First video has no spoilers beyond the first town.

*** SPOILERS, VERY EARLY GAME ***

I voted C. I am cautiously optimistic. I love Persona's battle system and art style, but loath the dating/relationship/school crap. Hopefully this game is more focused and doesn't have that extra stuff. I couldn't get into Person Tactica because the characters would never STFU.

It has social links and all that I believe, it's not a proper stray away from that stuff, I can't stomach it either but the setting here and there being no school should definitely help. I would say it's still JRPG, goofy and immature but more akin to something like Tales of Arise where you can let that slide cause of the setting and hopefully the characters, as with that game, will be strong enough to overcome any cringe. Anyway, it's the games core systems that are the highlight here, I'm willing to put up with cringe for really good combat and RPG systems but I suppose it's up to how much of it you can let slide off the shoulder, I certainly can't do Persona games anymore, I've only played P5 and got through it cause it was novel and the core game and systems are dopamine feul, started P4 and ten hours in the cast is still cringe as fuck. I know from the previews that, that is being sidestepped with Metaphor to a large degree.

Can you stomach the JRPG'sness of FF7 remake or the Tales games? I think that's in or around the level of it we're looking at.

I love Tales, great fricking games.  Good balance of story and actual gameplay.  I am playing Arise now on the PC.

7 Remake is love and hate.  Some chapters are just absolutely amazing and so great...  other chapters are just so ****ing terrible and boring.

Well if ya like Arise, I doubt there's much to worry about in way of characters and story here, you probably should be more hyped. Have you gotten to Arises third act yet? Game is damn great until then, still a 10/10 cause it's the only blemish but man does it fucking hurt itself for a excruciatingly long stretch there.

just got the 2nd area, the snowy area.  I played it back on the ps4 but don't remember all the details.  This will be my second play.  It was on sale via Steam and couldn't help myself.  It does look at good in native 4k and 120 fps.

Ah, so no spoilers then. You know the bit where they stop to have a long ass party chat like three times before continuing the adventure and you go from point to point for three hours with no gameplay. They really dragged it out and fucked up the pacing. Game was so strong until that point and like you said about Persona, they just would not STFU.
