I don't think anyone is arguing that there is a performance and/or price difference. That's pretty clear.

HDD's are magnetic spinning platters and SSD's are electric semiconducting chips. I think you mean more like a Samsung 970 EVO 500GB SSD vs a Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 2000GB SSD. Both would be part of the 970 EVO line of products, just one is an upgrade with better performance and more storage, at a higher price.

Xbox One X is an Xbox One product, just an upgrade with better performance at a higher price.

I agree they are all Xbox One products. I just don't see the X1, X1S, X1X and X1SAD as the SAME product.

I don't wanna drag this on but different models also offer different features. Like 4K Bluray support to no disc support at all.

An other analogy would be that of cars. You want a Corolla, but then you get to choose which options you want and pay a premium to have them. No matter what, it is a still a Corolla.

In any case, the end result makes it so not all Corolla are equal.

It seems sad, they announced this game 7 years ago and now they have an issue with it? Seems wise to just release it for next gen considering in a year from now everyone will be 'oh wow you play the horrible last gen version?'.

I mean, yeah it does make sense for them to release it for next gen, but you know what doesn't really make sense?, gens having no clear line of time spacing between gens. All of the gens haven't exactly followed an ultra specific number of years between one another, and well, that game took 7 years to make, so I would be like them and assume this gen as going to last as long as 7th gen (especially since the big 3 don't exactly tell everyone when a gen is going to happen 5 years in advance, otherwise this sort of issue would have been modified 5 years in advance before now).

Each product is it's own 'entity' I guess you could say, but that doesn't mean each product is completely different and unique compared to another, especially within the same company, category, market, etc.

I agree that at this point, we're basically at the point of agree, or agree to disagree.

I thought up a few others first, but I get enough backlash about my non topic related analogies, so I tried to use something closely related. Your's works as well to make the point though.

The Canadian National Anthem According To Justin Trudeau

Oh planet Earth! The home of native lands,
True social law, in all of us demand.
With cattle farts, we view sea rise,
Our North sinking slowly.
From far and snide, oh planet Earth,
Our healthcare is yours free!
Science save our land, harnessing the breeze,
Oh planet Earth, smoke weed and ferment yeast.
Oh planet Earth, ell gee bee queue and tee.

I expect Cyberpunk to be par for the course when it comes to 8th gen assets, environments, etc. I think its the scale of the game that might be more impressive.

Given its being designed with 8th gen in mind, I can't imagine it will be bad even on 8th gen base consoles. If so, CDPR really dropped the ball.

I thought I was having issues explaining this coherently that he just wasn't able to understand my point, but good to see other forums users see it.
Cheers.

End of the day the Xbox One X is an Xbox One.

Cyberpunk is pushing technical aspects that won't be seen on 8th gen hardware, only next-gen and current PC's.

We are at a point where texturing is pretty damn good, where model complexity is pretty damn good, there is room for improvement on those fronts, sure, but we are at the point of diminishing returns for any given leap in hardware power.

But we aren't at the point where we can say the same about lighting, which is a big leap with Cyberpunk 2077 and which is the big focus for next-gen.

--::{PC Gaming Master Race}::--

My main concern, which is pretty subjective, is that in our small region (New Zealand) the CE was only made available for console. Or if it was available on PC it's must've sold out within 10mins.
I have no problems playing through it at least once on PS4, and if it's Fallout 4 or Witcher 3 level of bad optimisation, I can just buy it again for PC; and console-onlies can just wait a year for the innevitable GOTY/definitive edition on next-gen. But if I have to pay for a new console I have zero interest in, just to justify the obscenely priced collector's edition that's already the cost of a console, just to play single game.. I'm gonna be a bit peeved.

Just irrational to ignore the already huge install base of PS4s and Xbones. If the Phatom Pain was able to release playable on PS3 and 360, there's no excuse to not have this game released on current gen.
