Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Reveals PS5 Logo

The best thing is that the ps5 logo already got more likes than the xbox series x con solé itself 🤣🤣🤣

I love Sony and the Playstation and all that but their CES com sucks. NOBODY watched to see a logo!

We wanted either a reveal of the actual system or actual specs confirming or not, the recent rumors of a 9.2 TF PS5.

So this was the perfect time for Sony to talk about figures and specs. But why do that when you can just allow for the confusion to go on longer, right?

Comments like this are so bizarre. Like, do you even know what CES is?

The fact that the logo was announced is more than you, and everyone else, should have realistically expected.

This wasn't the perfect time for anything PS related because CES is not an event for gaming, it's an event for tech. Even looking over what was shown this year and in previous years, and you'd realise that TVs, phones, cameras, audio devices and sex toys are the main products being shown off at CES.

Did this need a reveal? It's the same as the PS4, but with a 5.

Nope, but considering the amount of conversation it has generated, is has worked out well for Sony

An upside down P and a horizontal line at the top, to be more exact. Way more creative than the Roman numeral V...

The Canadian National Anthem According To Justin Trudeau

Oh planet Earth! The home of native lands,
True social law, in all of us demand.
With cattle farts, we view sea rise,
Our North sinking slowly.
From far and snide, oh planet Earth,
Our healthcare is yours free!
Science save our land, harnessing the breeze,
Oh planet Earth, smoke weed and ferment yeast.
Oh planet Earth, ell gee bee queue and tee.

It's like the PS4 logo but now it's a 5, not a 4.

Sure cause video games are not tech... right!

Also I know a little more about CES than you think, for starters CES stands for CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW. In case you did not notice we gamers are consumers, our gaming is based off electronic devices and a show is a place where stuff is shown, namely electronics for consumers.

Also and I suspect you don't know this but long ago, before E3, video games related stuff was presented at the CES.

But hey, I don't know what CES is or what it stands for and just presenting a LOGO is information enough in the context of the biggest most lucrative form of entertainment on earth, which is video games.

>Sony has a presence at CES 2020 and Sony says "the future is coming" at CES 2020.

Sony does a lot more than gaming.  It's not Sony's fault that people were hyping it up to be their next gaming console.  That's on the journalists.  It made no sense because Sony didn't announce the PS2, PS3, PS4, PSV, PSP at CES, and there was no reason to think it was going to be different this time.

It boggles my mind that anyone was expecting anything more than a logo.  I've been betting for the past year and a half that Sony would probably have a conference next month specifically for the console.

The PS4 was given a full two hour showing, with tech and games, and that was before E3 happened.

There was no way in heck that they were going to show anything at CES about PS5, because CES is just as much about showing off their camera tech, and their TV tech as it is about their games system.

>Sony arrogance:

They are wanting to transition to next gen in a big way.  That's hardly arrogance.  It's not anymore arrogant than MS.

And I'm sure MS will have a Series X2 around the same time.  It's pretty much implied by the name.

1. Sony was at CES and they were please to share the new PS5 Logo, you claim it was clear that Sony wouldn't show anything PS5 but you were wrong they were happy to show their new logo.

2. The current landscape and competition is completely different then it was with the PS4. The console competition isn't in shamble like it was for the PS4, Nintendo with a failed system in WiiU and Xbox underpowered overprice console combine with DRM marketing nightmare. Also, the introduction of cloud gaming might have a future impact on consoles sales. PS4 was a massive success but all the stars were aligned for perfect system launch.

Arrogance: exaggerating or disposed to exaggerate one's own worth or importance often by an overbearing manner an arrogant official.

PS5 will have a successful launch but I don't expect it to set the world a blaze like the statement from Jim Ryan. I don't think they are in the same landscape to
surpassed the success of the PS4. It's just arrogance the kind of arrogance they had with the PS3 and we all know what happen back then.

3. It really all depends on 4k 60FPS. Last generation we all wanted 1080p 60 fps from PS4 & Xbox One and we were sadly very disappointed. In the end the console are limited to the TV displaying the graphic. This generation the benchmark will be 4K 60FPS. As a console gamer, I have no interest in buying a new console every 2-3 years (especially if you own all three consoles).... even last gen refresh to PS4 Pro and Xbox one X failed to meet our expected benchmark.

There still a large percentage of console gamer that don't have a 4k TV.

The logo doesn't mean much. It's literally the same logo with a 5.  This was never going to be the place for Sony to show the console or any games.  They're going to show it when they are ready to give a real show.

>The current landscape and competition is completely different then it was with the PS4.

That doesn't make it arrogant.  It's literally what every console maker tries doing.

They're just trying to tell their shareholders that they are going to be pushing into next gen as quickly as they can.

CES was never going to be where they show the console. They are going to have a full hour or two blow out.  They don't want it mixed in with cameras and other stuff.

They're going to do their best and give it a showing it deserves.

True, nowadays we don't expect such a reveal over at CES... However, when you start a show by talking about the Playstation, then giving figures about the playstation then having the big boss of Playstation America on stage, talking about playstation and the future of playstation, it causes a sudden big hype only to be let down when said big boss just walks out of the stage and you end up being like, wait, that was all? They just built the hype to just leave us hanging there?

So I'll stand by my original comment in this thread, Sony's CES com sucks!

It's literally how they started last year's CES.

Yes, you don't.

I'm sorry, but your expectations of CES and what should have been shown, and the reality of what CES is, are two different things.
