Npd Switch is selling worse than last year which is surprising because it had 2 extra months this year.

Switch had a launch + 1st holiday that year..... those two are more important than 2 extra months at the start of the year.
Plus It had Mario Odessey + BoTW, this year it hasnt had a new huge title to get people to go buy a unit.

it might not do those 20m that people are saying it will, this year.

Not sure why you're talking about the holiday, as I'm pretty sure he's talking both years aligned. Though, I do agree with your launch point. Which is why people trying to use the fact that Switch didn't have Jan and Feb last year for points in its favor are incorrect. Launch month more than makes up for it. Same goes for claiming PS4/XBO had their first true holidays in 2013. That was during a launch. Those systems would have sold the same amount if they had launched in March 2014. Probably more, as they would have been able to build up more stock.

Also agree with the 20M. It's going to be extremely hard for Nintendo to reach 20M, if sales continue like this. It's the first month of their fiscal year and they've probably sold less than ~650K WW.  That's less than ~7.8M across 12 months. Granted there will be better holiday months, which should push it to ~15M.  But, 20M is looking like a stretch. It's obvious Labo didn't push HW like they thought it would. At least, so far. They must be planning a nice price drop for the holidays, now. Or they'll adjust their goals.

Seeing those numbers I wonder why anyone is suggesting that Sony should create a PS4 hybrid like the Switch.

what holiday? im talking about this time last year switch was at around 1.19m. this year switch is currently at around 1.05m. switch is behind this year even though it had 4 months this year compare to 2 months last year

Oh... yeah... so far its sales are down abit.
My  thinking is that maybe by end of 2018, its yearly sales wont be much better than last years either.

I need more software rank info .

From friends of mine who work at various electronic retailers, GOW May effect is still ongoing. The trend they are seeing is a lot of OG PS4 to Pro sales.

Around the Network

April has always been a weak month for console sales. GOW made a massive difference for PS4. I would assume US is 94% of NA sales, not 85%

YoY

PS4: +58%
Switch: -39%
XBox One: +20%

YTD
PS4: ~1.3M (+7%)
NSW: ~1.03M (-13%)
XB1: ~980K (+34%)

PS4 huge YoY up is obviously because GoW, Switch YoY down is obvously because Switch last year had MK8D and this Labo and April last still had launch effect because console was sold out in March.

no surprise after god of war release, but numbers if switch seems a bit low, but i could be mistaken

It is safe to assume that most while expecting PS4 to win the month due to GoW didn't expect such a major gap and it being able to sell on par with Switch+XB1 in USA.

And not to forget that every month people claimed sales would be much higher if the stock was there... so that put this year to even lower showing.
