Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Super Mario Odyssey - E3 2017 Trailer (Nintendo Switch)

This game's trailer is so addictive...like,  I can't, I've watched so many times and sometimes I play it just to listen to the music

The game looks incredible. How does Nintendo do it? How are they so creative. The level design looks beautiful.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

The return of a life bar and ledge grabbing puts a smile on my dial.

October seems so far now...

So people aren't realizing the clever irony here? The enemies are the power ups.

This honestly might be one the weirdest games Nintendo has made, lol, it's all over the place.

1930s New York jazz, vocal singing tracks, T-Rex and dinosaurs, a wedding theme, football Mario, tank shooting/sci-fi type enemies, Mexican sombreros ...

Yes, exactly, and it's glorious!

It's like Nintendo watched G-Gundam and had an epiphany:  what if instead of being tied to traditional theming, we just did whatever we thought was fun, cool, or kickass?

I gotta echo Nuvendil here, I kinda love just the zany insanity of it all.

It reminds me of games like Rayman Legends or Banjo Kazooie, just a wild hodgepodge of gloriously whacky ideas.

Eh, I'm probably gonna get killed for saying this, but I really don't prefer the Mario Sunshine style of gameplay. The levels are too wide open which takes away from the platforming IMO.

Super Mario 64 was about the right size, and Galaxy was good too. I think 3D World is underrated and people will appreciate that game more as time goes on.

Everyone has their own taste. I do however agree on 3D world. It'll turn into the next super mario world within several years

Yeah, the game is insane, literally. And totally over the top. But that's what's keeping me interested about it, since I'm not a fan of exploration-based Marios. Though I must say that the hat-power is a very, very clever idea. Let's see if they can combine accordingly the exploration with the platforming, and that could turn out to be legendary. Though the gameplays I've seen seem to indicate it's more balanced towards exploration. And I'm scared about that. But excited. I think it'd be pretty hard to do a follow-up to the astonishing, but criminally underrated 3DWorld.
