I missed this thread being spicy.

Been awhile since we've had a good old meltdown, I prefer when they insult Noble though.

There's probably no better place to do this, so I apologize for my outburst in the article the other day. I'm an absolute spaz when I don't sleep, and was up till' 5am and awake at 7:30. So there you have it. I'm assuming somebody saw it. Maybe not. Regardless. Soooory. @axumblade I can't place who NFG is.

-nevermind. I know who it is. Didn't bear witness to it, because I wasn't around much then.

Bruh, I'm in tears rn. How sad do you have to be.

He didn't have an alt. He wanted a permaban.

I never understand why somebody would even want a ban. If you don't like it anymore, just stay out or stop posting...

So, with the beginning of March now here, I figured I'd update everyone on what I plan to do going forward (regarding both The Mod Team and the VGC Community).

Taking a page from the legendary Naznatips' book, I will continue to lead our moderators, in addition to, stepping up efforts that require a bit more attention. So, not just Head Mod, but Community Manager on the moderator side of things (our Site Admins are who you can continue to report to for site fixes and major site design changes). I will also be looking to hire a new mod or two in the next month, so if you're interested and have been fairly active with a relatively clean mod history, you may be getting a PM. Other changes are coming to The Mod Team, but I'll disclose that when all is finalized.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm going to do things more like Naz once did (even summarizing some of his very words), so pay close attention as these things are important...

Reporting Trolls (or people known to cause significant trouble in threads):

1) Report posts. Mods cannot possibly be expected to read every thread. If you are not reporting instances of users trolling, your post will not be heard.
2) If you have a repeated issue with an individual user and reports haven't been effective, email or PM me WITH LINKS to these posts, and I will handle it
3) If a moderator or another staff member is trolling, report it DIRECTLY TO ME. Do not report it in the standard system, as it may be lost.

Reporting Unfair Moderations:

1) Report to me. If you were unfairly banned, report it to me FIRST. Do not argue with the mods, do not make alt accounts and complain. Email me FIRST.
2) If that doesn't get a response, make a new account and PM me, but DO NOT POST ON THE FORUMS WITH THIS ACCOUNT. I will always respond to your issues, I promise, even if it's not necessarily the response you wanted to hear, I will respond.
3) If for some insane reason I don't respond, ever, to repeated questions, I'm probably incapacitated in some way. In this case, report to any other moderator and, if I can return, they will fill me in.

I'm your resource. If you have things that you'd like to see cleaned up on the forums, I'm the one to go to. Just please..... do not make topics to vent; it does not help. Do not bite back and insult worse; it does not help. Report, Report, REPORT, and if you have issues after that you need to come to me. If you still have questions — PM me!! I promise I will respond at some point.

Sure. That could be a solution. I still see some valid reasons as to why a user would like to be able to request a permaban.

1. European citizens are protected by law from local and foreign companies abusing our private information. GDPR gives us the right to know what data these companies store, what they use it for, and how we delete it. VGC letting Europeans create profiles without complying with GDPR could theoretically lead to fines if reported.

2. Being freed from the temptation to log in and waste time trying to school a random troll that doesn't even want to face reality anyway as he deliberately chooses the comfortness of living in an ecochamber.

3. Giving other users the opportunity to see that you're banned and must be contacted through other networks. As it is now, you can have a bunch of messages from people thinking you're still active on the site.

Permabans were a thing in the past. Why did it make sense then but not now?

Well in most cases, you can just look up their account and see when they last logged in.

Still, even then, wouldn't you want to make it revocable? I mean, if you want or need to come back?

I'm pretty sure self-requested permabans always were revocable?

Damn right you lock that thread! https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=242026&page=1

It was definitely no coincidence that it was locked immediately after I called yal out, trying to hide your shame eh? But did you see what I did there? I had saw the thread when it was initially posted, but I was patient and let it play out for a bit. Safe bet it would turn into another Trump thread, but I waited until that actually happened first, until there was actually evidence, before accusing it of being made in bad faith.
