Good choice, I'm also a guy that loves rpgs and I'm not too fond of shooters yet I still choose Xbox as my primary console. Liking rpgs doesn't mean liking jrpgs which I find very difficult to like. Also there are so many shooters outhere but Xbox has the best exclusives in Halo and Titanfall imo. The others are mixed.

I recomment you subscribe to EA Access even if it's for one month just because you can get Dragon Age, Plants vs Zombies and Titanfall.

If you like racing, you have the amazing Forza Horizon 2 and Forza 6
Sunset Overdrive is a fresh game. I thought it was a bit over the top but good fun nonetheless
Dead Rising and Ryssse are nice also.

I would recomment Killer Instinct for you fighting fix, the next Street Fighter won't come to X1 but ehh you could get that on PC if you are not ready to get a PS4 yet.
Ori, Max Curse of Brotherhood, Child of Light are really nice 2D games to get.

Don't forget Guilty Gear, King of Fighter, Final Fantasy Dissidia, and more fighters all PS4 exclusives...

Seriously... Be honest with the guy. Killer instincts vs a wave of better exclusive fighters....

I'm being honest. He wants an Xbox, then I point the best games he can get on that platform. There are good games on Xbox you know. And no more doesn't mean better. I parted ways with KOF and GG a long time ago. I even bought Blaz Blue on 360... none of them can compare to KI. It's a matter of tastes I know.

He said RPG/Sim/Strategy.  Then people list none of the above. He hasn't even bought the system yet, we as gamers deserve to tell him all the exclusives for the categories he plays are on Playstation this gen.  On a side note Blaz Blue is another PS4 exclusive.

If someone asked me for FPS I would point them to the PC/Xbox....but he didn't. PC because I prefer keyboard/mouse for FPS, Xbox for Halo and Titan Fall.

If he bought an Xbox already, my comments would be different. Just trying to save him from regret when he sees all his genres require him to buy yet another system.

Get a ps4 based on the Op since ur an rpg fan

Well, read the title again. He's getting an Xbox and asks for game recommendations. He doesn't care if the games are exclusives or not. He's not asking whether he should buy one or not or if exclusives on PS4 are better or not... you have this strong conception that shooters are the only reason someone would want an Xbox. Many people don't care for shooters yet they still choose the console and it's for as many reasons as they like no need to try to convince them that they'll "regret" their purchase.

BTW Blaz Blue isn't that much of a good game. I think it's mainly fan service. Give me 10 fighting games like BB they wouldn't be played as much as KI or SF.

Meanwhile today another PS4 exclusive simulator was announced and I'm sure more exclusives are to come during the Playstation Experience which starts tomorrow.

He should know by now that Xbox One will have less than half the titles PS4 does for his favorite genres. Most people with common sense wouldn't pick a console with less games for there favorite genre, that is less powerful, with the poorer performing third party titles at the same price if they are only getting one. If brand loyalty is his deciding factor, so be it.

Witcher 3 and Dark Souls II.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

I know. The man said he's getting a Xbox so recommend games. Not I'm getting a Xbox talk me out of it. You'd think some of these guys are getting paid by Sony.

Why don't you convince him to stay on PC then... that's where there are the most games for his tastes, can be far more powerful than any console in the market with far better performances for titles that are cheaper. Wouldn't that be the logic behind "common sense"?

If he didn't have a PC you make a good point for everything but RPGs which PS4 has in spades.

The first thing he list is RPG (which even more were announced as PS4 exclusives today). I'm a PC gamer first, all my multiplats are bought on PC. Outiside of big named exclusives, it's RPGs that the PC lacks which keeps me playing consoles as much as I do. The X360 was different it had more rpg multiplats %, and it had some nice exlusives like Blue Dragon. The Xbox one significantly lags behind the 360 in the RPG department. The thing is stradegy games aren't very taxing on PCs, you don't need a souped up PC for most of them, so for his genres his current PC more than likely is up to the task. Then we go to Strategy RPGs and were back to PS4 exclusives that aren't coming to PC. Sims are also not very taxing on the PC to run decently, and 60 frames for most sims wouldn't really matter.

A 4 year old 2700K can easily max out those genres. It would helpful if we knew his specs though.

To further demonstrate the point all the RPGs Xbox fans have listed are also on the PC and PS4. I listed many RPGs that are exclusive and I can continue to list more like Tales and Ni No Kuni 2 that will not come to the Xbox One, these genres are that one sided.

As others have pointed out in other forums:

Okay? They weren't announced for anything but ps4, so as of right now they are ps4 only.....

Well anybody who cares about those style of games should have a PS4. Its mostly niche stuff.
