Doing a project for school (Business Leadership), I have to analyse a company and the industries it operates. For reasons above myself, I chose PornHub Nintendo, so I have to do some investigation on the games industry. Apparently, if Yahoo can be trusted, the leader of the games industry¹ is... Not EA, not Activision or Take-Two... Konami? Yes, Konami. I know they have been very succesful, and probably arcades and other businesses² made them really big back in the day, but I'm quite surprised by this. Even more considering that they haven't honestly released many games in recent years; can't think of any besides PES and MGS. It is ranked by Market Cap, but I guessed that's the best way to rank them. 

What do you think? I honestly thought (and have my doubts on Yahoo) that Activision was the leader. CoD, WoW, all the succesful PC games.

¹ It's not easy to tell where MS (Xbox) or Sony (Playstation) rank since they're subsidaries of a company with different main market.
² I'm not very sure about that one.

No wonder they don't care about AAA games anymore. They have enough money to buy the whole industry and destroy it if they wanted to.

Seriously though Activision Blizzard (especially now they own King), EA, Take 2, Tencent etc etc all far surpass Konami. Hell Konami would be lucky to rank in the top 10 in Japan alone as far as Video Game Industry Leaders would go

I have to question the validity of a chart that claims Konami is worth over 39.27 trillion dollars... especially when it also says that the total industry value is 39.44 trillion dollars.

EA is what i think and Sony for consoles

Also remember konami does more than video games.

In terms of money and franchises I'd say Activision, they have an insane amount of money as a games only publisher and a partner that makes a boatload of money as well.

Yep, turns out they've just regularly gone to the bookies and put bets on Jim Sterling insulting them each week. Made more money than they do from their games.
