Doing a project for school (Business Leadership), I have to analyse a company and the industries it operates. For reasons above myself, I chose PornHub Nintendo, so I have to do some investigation on the games industry. Apparently, if Yahoo can be trusted, the leader of the games industry1 is... Not EA, not Activision or Take-Two... Konami? Yes, Konami. I know they have been very succesful, and probably arcades and other businesses2 made them really big back in the day, but I'm quite surprised by this. Even more considering that they haven't honestly released many games in recent years; can't think of any besides PES and MGS. It is ranked by Market Cap, but I guessed that's the best way to rank them.
What do you think? I honestly thought (and have my doubts on Yahoo) that Activision was the leader. CoD, WoW, all the succesful PC games.
1 It's not easy to tell where MS (Xbox) or Sony (Playstation) rank since they're subsidaries of a company with different main market.
2 I'm not very sure about that one.
