There isnt enough talk about actual videogames here.

Lets talk about this one. It looks great. The gameplay video at IGN is sweet

And here is a small writeup from the early access, from Examiner.

Combining elements of existing games or genres in new ways has been a popular practice for small development studios recently, and Mercenary Kings embodies this philosophy more wholly and successfully than most. Then again, when you combine the side-scrolling shooting gameplay of Metal Slug with the freeroaming stage design of a Metroidvania game and a loot drop and weapon customization system akin to Monster Hunter you’re not left with much room to complain no matter how derivative certain elements might be.

The only thing that’s really off in this mix is the difficulty, which skews much easier to start with than its mechanical inspiration but steadily ramps up to something more familiar before long. Throw in sprite art from Paul Robertson (most recently of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game fame) and you’ve got a title with solid gameplay and a delightfully self-aware attitude. The early access version only contains 60 of the full game’s promised 100 missions, but even when severely truncated the care and effort put into Mercenary Kings is incredibly clear.

I for one like the look of this

You tempted me way too much with that title and that description, only to discover that no 360 version is planned.

:( I feel so frustrated now that I could try to kill me with a fork.

In any case, it looks soooo sweeeet. Me love some offline co-op games. They're the best of the bunch; just plain fun with your friends.

You have a PC, dont you?!

2D sidescrolling shmups/bmups are super fun. Castle Crashers is one of my top games of the gen on 360 Takes me back to the good old days.

Looks really good. Old school meets new school, I like it.

But what's the fun on PC? I've only got one 360 controller that can connect to the PC. Maybe splitscreen if it allows 360 C. and Keyboard...mmm...something is something I guess ;)

And, I didn't like Castle Crashers, actually. But I did love the dev's latest game, Battleblock Theater. It's so awesome to play it with friends. One of my favourite 2D platformers :)

I love the retro elements reorganized. Mercenary Kings seems to combine many elements of games I'm really fond of. I have Metal Slug XX and Maverick Hunter X on my Vita right now ^_^ I hope Mercenary Kings ends up in the same folder.

It doesn't have realistic shadows and grass therefore it sucks! I remember playing Metal Slug 3  many years ago on my old crappy PC. The game was hard and it made me its bitch, but I still loved it. This game looks great and I would love to see other games that get inspired by Metal Slug!

My type of game!

Game does look neat. Too bad no Wii U (or even 3DS) eShop version.

If the game does really well, then who knows? Could eventually have it on Wii U. I expect it would look gorgeous on the Gamepad.
