Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox fans, Y U No Vote?

Tagged games:

Every month since April of last year, I've held regular votes to see which games are the most anticipated on VGChartz. It's been fun, and I've learned a lot about this website's tendencies and tastes. However, there is one thing that continuously bothers me.

We have about two Xbox fans voting.

You see, we vote using a sort of point system, where you vote for 5 games, from 1 to 5 points each, for a total of 15 points. For example, we have 733 points so far this month, because 49 people have voted (and two of them messed up).

The Xbox One and 360 COMBINED have 30 points.

That's about 4% of the total combined.

That's less than the Vita COMBINED.

I wouldn't be so bothered, but I suspect that the Xbox community here on VGChartz isn't so small. I mean, looking at the Forum Index, it should be getting a bunch more votes every month. So consider this my special invitation to all Xbox fans.

Vote Below!

If you look at almost every vote total, it is so one sided. So another vote confirming this is kind of redundant. Better to create a different thread for each system, then you might get some feedback.

Not necessarily. Over the past few months, we've had the PS3, PS4, and Wii U all lead in terms of points. The best scoring game of the month at the moment is a 3DS game. And earlier in the year, the Vita overtook the 3DS for a while. So the Sony and Nintendo fans of this site roughly balance eachother out.

Exactly = Bolded.  Based on a lot of the comments that people leave, almost everyone likes Nintendo at some level.  From there, it seems to change as to what system outside of Nintendo's that they support.  That is clearly Sony in these forums.  I would bet that a lot of people have systems from all 3 companies.  But their favorite is the one they lean towards when commenting.  If you want a more balanced poll, break it up by brand at least.  If you did, you will still see small numbers in responses for anything xbox.

He actually does that. There is overall top games and there is list of games on individual platforms. Wouldn't hurt if you guys voted instead of complaining about being a minority. I mean it is not that big of an issue as it is in real life where majority rules can have significant effect.

Heck i'd vote for some of the xbox games like Titan Fall and Sunset Overdrive. It is just that i prefer voting for system i have or going to get in near future.

The Xbox community on here is very small and there are obvious reasons why (that I can't be bothered going into).  Consider that 4% a good turnout.

expected.

once there is game on xbox someone is anticipating it will generate votes.

But breaking the thread in different brands goes against the point of the thread, which is knowing which are our most anticipated games, not which game from X platform is our most anticipated... which is something that also appears on the results.

It's obvious that some prefer Nintendo and others Sony, but that's why we have 5 votes. You want Mario Kart, Killzone, Forza? Vote for them! Just pick the order according to your tastes.

In the end, the results are biased because Xbox users don't vote. If Kowen, Selnor, Yo_John, etc voted then the results would be a better depiction of our tastes.

Only 30 points for a console that is about to launch is, and I'm sorry to put it this way, pathetic. I'm sure the dying (or so they say) PC has a lot more points than that!

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Most Wanted is a fun thread every month. I enjoy reading through it.

Whatever the size of the Microsoft fanbase on VGChartz, it is still significantly under-represented in Salnax's threads every month. So it's nice to see him going out there trying to canvas a few more votes. While I suppose I do understand this defeatist "why bother?" attitude, it's not like there's particularly any merit to one machine winning the monthly vote. It just gives a nice overview of what the community is looking forward to on each platform.

So yeah. Go vote!

Actually, the 30 points includes 360 votes. We still have a Fable game on the way for that platform.

As for the PC, it isn't doing that much better than the Xbox. But considering this site's inability to track PC games on a regular basis and the much smaller size of the PC forum compared to the Nintendo, PlayStation, and even Xbox forums, that's to be expected.

As late as Janurary's vote (the closest file I can find at the moment), the 360 alone was doing better than the PlayStation portables combined and almost as well as the Nintendo systems. Xbox has never been a strong brand on VGCartz, but it never became outright WEAK until after the release of games like Bioshock Infinite, Gears of War: Judgement, and Tomb Raider. Even though E3 only provided a temporary boost (though numbers are still better than for April and May), at least it proved to me that Xbox fans are still around here somewhere. They just don't seem to be good at representing themselves.
