yeah have it on pc and 360. but didn't play both versions for a while
And 8 Million on the Xbox 360, but it is coming out soon on all other platforms.
How much does Notch make from that?
Still with all that, it's only 1/3 what the last James Cameron movie made. Amazing.
And it would take a minimum wage worker in the USA over 6 thousand years to make that much. Assuming they could live, work, eat for free (and live that long.)
Those revenue numbers aren't quite right, many such as myself bought the game alpha when it was cheaper (when it was just notch alone making the game), there are a few who even got it for free one time when the servers went down or something. It's quite impressive nonetheless.

Actually, Avatar made about 2.7B dollars if I remember correctly. So it's about 12% perhaps Edit: But if you count all versions, it's probably almost 1/3 of Avatar! |
Yea, I did say about 1/3, but I remember that number was box office only, but it's also on DVD/Blu-ray and had that Pasasonic Exclusive for a while. Plus I'm sure there is a TV broadcast deal after it goes through other sources.
Usually a movie make the same amount on rentals/sales that it made in the box office. So even if Avatar only made half, there is still another 1.35 billion to add to the totals.
Amazing is it!

Still waiting for ver 1.2 for Terraria! |
That could be partly due to Tobuscus no longer playing Terraria, if I recall correctly.

I was kinda joking, but your take on it does end up raising a valid point. Terraria doesn't seem to have too many Let's Play folks on it. I am not even sure it has a Walkenthrough.
On the Internet, being notice tends to breed getting noticed. Things less known end up staying that, or it pops. That happened to me September 2012 on BoardgameGeek with my game W.W.B. It rose on the activity list, because it was on the activity list. I happened to go along for the ride.
I believe Tobuscus played Terraria befor Minecraft (at least that is what I thought):

I plan to do a walkthrough/LP with my friends once 1.2 comes out (if it ever does that is xD). |
Good luck. Embed yourself in the fan base with the game, so you get more exposure.
