Not too many people have a full blown high speed WiFi connection on the go, rendering that sorta moot. It's a neat feature for people who want that Wii U type experience and are willing to shell out $400-$500 for a PS4 + $250 for a Vita though.

I don't think it will be relevant (or even useable) unless you own a PS4, so no life saver. Needs more original games.

Now they just have to save the PS4 so it can save the Vita.

Called it. Plus due to Gaikai internet connections don't need to be as good.

I don't foresee a huge impact on sales because of this.

If the Gaikai streaming is really that good I have to think it's going to be copied/improved upon by others (cough *Samsung* cough) and perhaps the game console itself will be rendered obsolete. Why bother with a big bulky box when you can just buy a Bluetooth controller for $50 and your smart TV can just stream the game?

Vita owners should be extremely concerned, I'd think. If Sony can't get actual games released for the Vita that sell well and move the system, then you get to use it as a glorified controller. A very expensive glorified controller.

As well, those games are streamed. Thus, your Vita will be as useful as your internet connection is. This doesn't really make it better for people who are still on limited bandwidth (which is a lot of people in the States) and/or have lousy net connections. Seriously, all it means is that instead of streaming PS1, 2, and 3 games and your bandwidth taking a hit that way, you get to stream the PS4 ones and use it that way instead.

It'd be a pretty poor fate for a very cool little handheld system if this turned out to be what 'saved it'.
