Atlus announced today that a demo for upcoming 3DS game Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan will be released on the Nintendo eShop on February 7. The demo lets you get a taste of the first bit of the game, including the obligatory tutorial dungeon, some of the first dungeon, and the first skyship area. Nice! Even the main dungeon's sidequests will be available, complete with all the skills, equipment and classes that would be available to you in this early part of the game.

In towns, QR code Guild Exchages and QR gifts are also available for use. Best of all, all progress in the demo transfers over to the full game. Now that's how you do a demo, folks

The full game launches on February 26 for both retail and on the eShop. A limited edition art book and CD are included.

So those of us who are going to buy the game can get a headstart, and those who aren't currently planning on buying it (also known as "terrible human beings") can give the game a shot and realize why you're wrong. So good news for all!

I haven't abandoned hope for a European release yet. If there hasn't been an announcement by December 31st 2013, then it's a done deal. But otherwise, Europe getting a game months after America isn't anything out of the ordinary.

I hope they're not waiting to see American sales, because judging by how EO IV threads do the game's not going to sell gangbusters here. :-/

Once this demo comes out it'll be an insta-download. I really want to try out this series.

@Rol: I wouldn't have high hopes.

After the news about the american release my hopes got higher and I asked NIntendo Germany:

Not that this gives any answer at all. But a man can hope, right.

I don't expect NoE to publish the game after the first Etrian Odyssey flopped pretty hard in Europe. The best bet is Rising Star Games who are known to bring Japanese niche titles to Europe. Even a digital-only release would be fine.

As for the e-mail response, it's good to see that nowadays NoE acknowledges the existence of such games. Back in the '90s they wouldn't even do that.

Yes, probably another publisher will make it. I'm aware of it and the mail also states this possibility. But NoE would know of it in any case, because of the license.

And LOL to your second paragraph.
