Valve confirmed it on their Steam forum AFAIK.
Though that story is I believe already 2-3 days old.
I highly doubt HL 2: Episode 3 will ever come out. It will most likely just become the first chapter of HL3.
Valve is the master of trolling, we won't see Half-life 3 until 2020
