Well, Blizzard games sell for years, at a high price too. That and the console version will push Diablo III to 10-12m.

I think sales will be very front-loaded and it will struggle to reach 12 million lifetime.
My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right
Is Pokemon B/W considered a great seller? News to me... I thought it did bad for a Pokemon Game.

Congrats... that game deserve.
I honestly did not think it would be this massive, not at all. A first week of 3-3.5 million would be very good, 6.3 million is utterly bonkers.
Lifetime sales though, hard to say. 12 million is a given, 15 million not unlikely, could do even more, especially if the release one or more successful expansions. Blizzard games basically sell forever.
