Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo copies their strategy with MarioKart Wii!

Tagged games:

Hey everyone who loved playing with the the Wheel peripheral for the Wiimote and worried that they couldn't have the same experiance on 3DS with Mario Kart 7! You can relax Nintendo has officially licensed the 3DS Wheel. The wheel will work in conjunction with the gyroscopes in the 3DS giving the game in theory the same feel as the Wii version of Mario Kart.

However unlike the Wii version I see problems with this. Moving the 3DS around constantly to use the gyro controls makes any game on 3DS almost impossible to play. The constant maneuvering makes hitting that 3D sweet spot nearly impossible. Since the screen is also moving constantly this also makes it harder to play racing games using the gyro's.

What do you think do you wanna play some Mario Kart Wii 2, or are you going to forgo on this peripheral and stick to the analog controls?

You sure about that? I am seeing "Hori" on it.

Hori is the manufacturer however according to Eurogamer as viewable in the source it says Nintendo officially lisensed it!

"Japanese gamers will get an officially licensed 3DS steering wheel for use with Mario Kart 7." - Eurogamer

In North America we have an official Nintendo seal on the front of every lisensed peripheral but I don't know if that is also in Japan. Also to use Mario Kart 7 logo they would need permission from Nintendo a liscense to use the Mario franchise. In other words the device is in no doubt liscensed by Nintendo!

*** Edit, a second look at the box art shows the Nintendo seal in the left hand side. Thus confirming it as official!

LOL

...and so the onslaught of useless peripherals continues.

Hmm I really like the design but I don't know if this gonna work, I mean you will be all the time turning the wheel and that will make the screen to turn it too making it uncomfortable. Maybe if this is connected to the WiiU things will get different
