And that figure is just for Japan. According to a slide from Index Holding’s most recent investors presentation, the Persona series as a whole sold 1.65 million games

 

Index has big plans for Persona 4. An anime series is airing in Japan and three games are currently in production.  Arc System Works is making a fighting game calledPersona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. It will debut in Japanese arcades next spring with a console release slated for summer. Index is developing Persona 4: The Golden for PlayStation Vita, which has a new character and a rescue mode. The company is also developing Persona 4 Social, which will be modeled after Persona 3 Social.

 

The enhanced port of Persona 2: Innocent Sin contributed to 112,000 units of sales for the series. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 sold 106,000 units in Japan.Catherine was the publisher’s top selling game with 260,000 units sold in Japan and 230,000 units sold overseas. A total of 490,000 units were sold, a bit lower than the 500,000 figure in the company’s financial report, but they did put "approximately" in front of that figure.

 

Well, deserved but it deserve more sales.

Agreed,it deserves more.Haven't owned any games myself,but played a few at a friend.

IT deserves more sales but what do you expect? Port after Port, Remake after Remake. Spinoffs after Spin offs.

Release Persona 5 already. I don't give a crap about PSP remakes and Fighting games.

Also, the fighting should have been like Dissidia in terms of character. I mean, make a Persona fighting game with characters from all persona games, not only the characters of Persona 4 and Aegis from P3

I just noticed after posting that you actually said the opposite of what I thought you meant at first. Well, tough luck.

It's alright, many people do use it in reverse, heh. Plus, FF XIII never really gets going, but that's a topic for another day (and sold 10^6 times more than it deserves)

for whatever reason? the reason being the games are great? FF13 isn't as great despite 2nd half being better. Persona 4 is a great game in it's own right..it's one of the better JRGP's released in the last 5 years.

We need more games like this, not Garbage like Infiniute Undiscovery and Hyper Dimension Craptuna. JRPG's have been so poor this gen it's not even funny. the best JRPG is xenoblade and that's a friggin Wii game.
