On 4th November, Europe will get a white Wii with Wii Party and Wii Sports, titled the "Wii Family Edition" by Nintendo, though that nickname could apply to practically every other Wii bundle released so far.

After that Nintendo will release a black Wii and Wii Fit Plus package with a Balance Board on 2nd December. Imagine a package like last year's black Wii Fit pack, only with the Wii in its new GameCube-less design.

Nintendo is still promising more Wii bundles on the way. Source

Here's the list of Bundles I read of

White Wii  with Wii party and Wii sports
Black wii with Wii Fit Plus
Blue wii with Mario and Sonice 2012 olympics

How do you get that idea? They cut the price in March or w/e and are now doing as many value bundles as they can think of, sounds quite the opposite, like they actually want to lose money. Especially with the Yen/Euro situation ... silly business practices.

Umm yah when they cut the price they also dropped the GameCube compatibility which added a lot of cost to the actual manufacturing process.I mean the new Wii doesn't need the controller ports or the memory card slots or the ability to read mini-disks. This would have shaved a large amount of expenses from the Wii's manufacturing costs. Plus keep in mind prior to the price cut Nintendo was turning a decent profit on every unit sold, so now with the fewer features they must still be making a decent profit.

I must agree with the currency situation they definitely aren't making as much as they used too. However with 3DS units selling at a loss and WiiU right around the corner. Nintendo is desperate to claw in as much money as they can before the next blow they are dealt. Fact is WiiU is not going to bring in the profits they had with Wii/DS day one if ever.

Nintendo is desperate to boost hardware sales. Also with 360 and PS3 market shares growing and Nintendo now trailing on a weekly basis. Nintendo wants to increase software sales this winter to bring in more money.

So yah Nintendo is trying to bring in some profit. They were at an operating loss already this year the first one in company history to my knowledge. Nintendo doesn't want to report bad news to investors at their next share holder meeting.

No, they didn't drop the GameCube port when they cut the price, they've only just cut the GameCube port, some 6 months after the price cut. Without any details on how much that costs, be quiet, you're just pulling stuff out of thin air otherwise.

These bundles would have been enough for the holiday, wii buyers have never been price concious, it's cheap as it is, the price isn't an issue. The 3DS cut was OTT as well, no way did they need to cut %80, $199 would have sufficed if they actually had a decent steady stream of SW.

Nintendo have made losses overall, actually a fair few Q's they've made losses, it's just an overal FY they havn't made a loss (which they'll be very close to this year)
