Just finished the campaign and I am 100% satisfied with the way everything tied together.  Amazing stuff.

THIS THREAD IS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE FINSHED THE CAMPAIGN.  READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Anyway, what did you like?  What didn't you like?  What do you wish they would have done differently? Let"s discuss it.

Can I call it or can I call it?  Still, I wish I was wrong.  I saw his death coming a mile away but Dom's death was fucking fantastic.  The situation went from fairly peaceful to a total shitstorm in a matter of minutes.  Santiago stepped up big time and saved the day.  When that "Mad World" music kicked in, I almost broke down and cried.  Best death scene since Crono died in Chrono Trigger.

Personally I didn't like how the game was always turned up to 10.  They had a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it but I wish the game would have given us more quiet time with the characters.  And Carmine--I voted for him to die.  I almost jumped for joy when I saw he survived the helicopter crash at the end of the game.

This game is the video game equivelant of a summer blockbuster.  It's a real crowd pleaser.  What did you guys think?

-I loved the game and was impressed with the death of Dom the music used afterwards was perfect I have never been so happy for a main character dying its like he needed to join his family he was never gonna be really happy. Also yes it does feel like the game was turned up to 10 the entire time and you never really get enough of certain characters besides their awesomely constant one liners during the gun fights.

-One big gripe though the locust queen. Man they were fighting for their survival at the end as well and it seemed like that could have been fleshed out better what with them actually showing up earlier than people really though 20 years before.

I chuckled when Carmine got shot in the head and remarked that it was lucky he wore a helmet. I also laughed when marcus took his do-rag off and revealed his action man style fuzzy head.

Low point(s): Dom. I couldn't face going straight into act 4, I had to turn off and wait till the next day. And not being able to shoot Griffin in the face.
High point: Beating the shit out of the lambent zerker.

Dom's death sucked but was great - he was my favorite character so seeing him go sucked, but it was done well within the context of the story and made sense for where his character was.

I particularly liked at the end, how Marcus used Dom's knife to kill Myrah - nice touch.

Few plot holes here or there, if you poke around hard enough, and not having read the books, thought Jace's character was PURE filler. Still, a fantastic ending to a series I've really enjoyed.

Have you found any of the easter eggs? Lambent Chickens?? Cluck-shot?? someone at Epic likes their fowl...

Man, I laughed, too!  I just knew Carmine was going to bite the bullet in this one.  I felt pretty bad voting for his death because this Carmine was a trash talking, ass kicker.  It's like Epic got a kick out of toying with us.  There was one part in the beginning where Carmine just barely missed being hit by a car.  Then, he got shot in the head.  And finally, there was a COG with a Carmine voice riding in a helicopter that got shot down.  When that chopper crashed I thought oh well.  Carmine died.  Then I find out it was just some other Carmine-looking soldier.  Every time it happened, I smiled.

That WAS Carmine in the helicopter - you can tell by his "Grub Killer" armor.  HE just survives the crash I think he screams "I'm on fire!!" when they are going down - HAHAHA

When Carmine went down in the chopper I was like "Cliffy B is a liar! He said the vote was to let him live." Then at the end I was happy. I understood Dom had to go being how much he missed his family but it still sucked. I wasn't all too happy with the way Queen Myrra died though. After all they've gone through fighting her and the Locust she went out too easy. I did have the feeling from the beginning that no matter what Adam Fenix was going to die. I called that one right.

I liked the "Brothers to the End....The End" campaign. It really sets the mood for Dom's death. However I don't feel Dom died in a battle the were being over run in, and I don't feel it was necessary to keep the others alive. I think Epic should have worked on that sequence a bit more, but Marcus's reaction was really well done.

I also think Baird and Sam's relationship should have been further explored.

However Epic has improved the game exactly where it needed it. They had a lot of plot, and in Gears 3 I felt they went over it a lot better, especially everything relating to Marcus. You really got the sense of how big this war was in Gears 3.

I also liked how Dizzy is still alive, and Epic really improved the Boss sequences and vehicle sequences. I can't wait to see Epics next gen game, they learned A LOT in the development of Gears from Gears 1 -3.

There was another helicopter crash before that one.  When Carmine's chopper showed up, Marcus said, "We finally have air support!"--nice throwback to Gears 1.  It reminds me of how Gears 2 goes back to that same conversation when Marcus tells Hoffman "I guess we ARE the support!"
