Forums - Microsoft - Capcom is final ready to show of Steel Battalion Heavy Armor at Gamescom

Tagged games:

Capcom first revealed the kinect enabled Steel Battalion at TGS last year and was one of the most talked about kinect games because people wondered how you can go from a huge controller setup to nothing. Since then there has been zero talk about their Mech game until now. Capcom is final ready to show off a private appearance at Gamecoms next week. So expect to hear a lot about it in the next upcoming week.  Link

I am still hoping there will a way to control this with just a controller, but I wont be holding my breath

I can't wait to see how they go from forty buttons to zero.

Well, it would be quite nice of them to have a secret announcement as well, for example a megaman game..

My exact thoughts. Should be really interesting.

Where is your imagination?

If they did this right it could be amazing.

Imagine having the controller as the main control.

Now.... on the screen you are in the cocpit... imagine a massive 40 button control panel on the screen that you can reach out and manipulate using Kinnect.

This could be awesome if they do it right.

yes exactly what I was thinking.... I don't why people think you can't do it... I had the last one.... you had the cockpit on screen anyway.... so why not just have the switches on screen and you can also do a lot of the checklist of launch through voice command..... but they can still come up with a blend of both.... have a huge paddle for movement and use upper body movement and voice recognition for the rest of the control scheme....

I think it is the easiest one to execute compare to other genre like FPS or RPGs.... RTS is also perfect for kinect...

The mech walks on its own, the camera moves on its own and the player is only required to say "pew, pew" everytime Kevin Butler shows up on screen.

still talking about this?

btw there is one free movement kinect coming next month(Rise of Nightmares)

You use an Xbox controller for movement, aiming, and firing, and Kinect for everything else.

We've got a trailer btw!
