Update: I have decided to give 800 MS points or a $10 PSN card (sorry Wii only users, I don't know how to get you guys anything) every 3 months to the person who I feel has consistantly had the best reviews in my threads. Hopefully this will inspire even more great reviews in these threads. Your reviews start to count on April 29th 2011 so the person with the best reviews will win at the end of July.

All you have to do is put what score you think the game below deserves, and write a brief explanation as to why it deserves that score.

Best Sim Racer I've ever played, blows GT3 out of the water by a country mile!

I must first say that I am not a fan of racing games to begin with but I still enjoyed a lot of them.

In this case, I give GT5 a 7.9/10.

Graphics were a total turn off. I expect at least decent graphics from a racing simulator otherwise what is it trying to simulate? Even Dirt 2 had better graphics. I'm usually not so picky on graphics but GT5 had some really annoying problems.

i hate ranking games that i havnt finished yet, but this game is in my house that i work in, so i cant play all the time and it has a lot of content, some that i dont think ill ever be able to finish, so im going to give it a 9.5/10 right now. i thought it was better than the previous games in the series

Good game and incredibly deep sim held back a bit by not evolving and somewhat static gameplay.

Pro's

-  The deepest and most complex racing sim on the market.  If your looking for super deep mechanics for raceing you won't find anywhere better to get it.

-  Probably the best physics in a racer ever

-  Graphics on the fully detailed cars are phenominal and some of the most impressive this gen.

-  HUGE amount of content.  Everything is available from huge tracks, hundreds and hundreds of cars, go karts, and even Nascar

Con's

-  Raceing at the end of that day to me isn't all that fun.  Its a blast at first but is incredibly repetitive and almost too realistic for its own good.  The game looses a bit of the thrill and sheer fun factor by taking itself so serious.

-  Menus are endless and not all that pretty.  In fact I hate the menues.

-  Graphics in some areas are pretty poor actually.

Overall I for sure think for what it is GT5 is amazing and can understand why sim fans love it.  To me however it feels mostly like the same game I've been plaing forever with just better graphics and physics. The series really needs to evolve a bit and improve the single player game and up the fun factor a bit.

All I have to say is the GT5 the best game I played this gen... I love almost every part of it and the massives updates make de game even better.

9.9/10 (the only games to receive a score near to that from me were LBP 9.8 and U2 9.7)

Good

- The best driving physics I ever see.
- The best graphics in a racing game.
- The best sim racing game today.
- The best tracks ever.
- The A-Spec and the endurance races.
- The B-Spec and the remote races (via webrowser).
- All the songs... and your own playlist.
- The Night, The Rain, The Snow... o GOD the unbelivable weather graphics.
- The fucking Premium Cars.
- The constant and massive updates.
- The special and seasonal events.
- The GT5 itself.

Bad

- Some cars non Premium.
- Some tracks.
- The terrible B-Spec AI.

Does having played prologue count lol?  

Reviews turned me off getting it, because they said it's more about car porn and grinding than racing.

Although I'm not a big fan of simulation racing games I enjoyed GT5 a lot. The premium cars look phenomenal, physics and gameplay are solid, its' career mode is great and it has enough content to keep you busy for months. However, many standard cars looked mediocre and the shadows were pretty bad overall, but these things didn't hurt it much for me.
