Forums - Gaming Discussion - Jack Tretton: Wii fading away; 3DS a babysitting tool.

"They're starting to run out of steam now in terms of continuing to be relevant in 2011 and beyond. I mean, you've gotta be kidding me. Why would I buy a gaming system without a hard drive in it? How does this thing scale? Motion gaming is cute, but if I can only wave my arms six inches, how does this really feel like I'm doing true accurate motion gaming?"

"Our view of the 'Game Boy experience' is that it's a great babysitting tool, something young kids do on airplanes, but no self-respecting twenty-something is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those," he remarked. "He's too old for that."

Good ol' JT!

As a Sony fan I will say that this was uncalled for Jack.

well in the famous quote of Murtough  "i'm too old for this shit"   meanwhile doing exactly what he says he is too old to be doing

but must say, people really do say stupid stuff.  he is going to be regretting this quote later on

It almost sounded like he thought it was Sony that made Kinect instead of Microsoft there. Its not like Move uses your whole body either

Guess I still need a babysitter at 22... because I enjoy my 3DS very much.

 Idiotic man.

seconded -- uncalled for and dumb.

what? im sure the ds is played ny more adults than the psp but regardless this is ridiculous.

He sounded more angry than anything.  The PS3 was third last NPD and he's seriously asking "Why would I buy a gaming system without a hard drive in it?"  So obviously people still prefer the Wii - he's just taking it pretty hard.
