Nintendo Reveals 76 Million-Unit Sellers On Wii

Nintendo recently revealed, for example, that its fastest-selling Wii title to date is New Super Mario Bros, which topped 10 million units last month. Adelman also revealed stats for the DS, which has 45 first-party and 63 third party titles that have topped a million worldwide units. He also revealed the sizes of the libraries for Nintendo's downloadable platforms, Virtual Console, WiiWare and DSiWare -- they're up to 347, 189 and 127 titles, respectively. As part of its event yesterday, Nintendo confirmed launch dates for its DSi XL in North America, its plans to publish Square Enix's Dragon Quest, and the rest of its first-half lineup, which includes Metroid: Other M and Super Mario Galaxy 2. Gamasutra also spoke to Nintendo of America's Cammie Dunaway, who said Nintendo's strong first-party titles were driving sales of its platforms, and that it would work closely with third parties who "make particularly good use for our hardware, represent great innovation, and are going to have appeal to the right audiences."

BUT! BUT BUT! Third party software doesn't sell on Wii! The people and the developers both say so!

And for those that doubt VGC numbers its all pretty much in line with what is stated, VGC just has 77 million sellers, I'll check to see the first to third party ratio when I can, right now I'm at school

This information was actually already released a month ago at Nintendo's third quarter financial results briefing...

The funny part about this information is that it makes Nintendo look even more dominant on DS than it is on Wii, yet DS doesn't have problems getting third party support...
