Gaming is liteally cooked around here, weak/old PCs playing free to play games, indies or older games in deep sales on Steam will be pretty much the only viable option for the vast majority of people here come 2028, nobody will care to invest in hardware assembly here anytime soon unless things wildly change.

Maybe I should not drop Genshin Impact in 2028 as I have been planning to do...

First of all, thank you for the detailed status of gaming in Brazil, really appreciate it!

The final part reminds me a lot af the Philippines. I mean, most "gaming" PCs look something like this:

~snip~

When I was there 5 years ago, most "gaming" PCs were actually AMD A-series APUs (without GPU of course), simply because modern PC hardware is simply way too pricey for developing countries.

~snip~

As for console games, the prices were pretty much the same as in western Europe, which again is unaffordable for must common people. Hence trickeries like "sharing" an account for a price on Switch to download the game to your account, then deleting the account again from your system:

Pre-built PC prices here are also either comically high or you are getting at last a few pretty bad/old parts with the system.

I built my own PC at the start of the pandemic effect here between March and April 2020, when prices began to skyrocket, but I still got decent parts with just a moderate market up (I did search a lot tho), my PC literally doubled in price 2 months after I built it, lol.

I got a Ryzen 5 3600 + GTX 1660 Super, 16GB 3000mhz DDR34 dual channel RAM and 2x NVMe SSDs (256gb for Windows boot + 2tb for use) and a 2tb hdd for general storage. And now over 6 years after I built it that then already midrange PC its still pretty decent for 1080p gaming lol, it's insane how bad things are nowdays.

For consoles, at least for Playstation and Xbox 360 and One, games drop a lot in price with time, their release price in very expensive, but after something like 2 years they are around $10 to $15 even for the most high profile games, but that is the case only since the PS3 generation. Original PS1 and PS2 games here nearly did even exist (or the OG Xbox too), they never dropped in price and nobody could buy them, so the rampant piracy literally was how everyone was playing games, it was why everybody had a PS1 and PS2 but nobody onwed a single game for them, just burned discs. That's also how I used to play games until around 2010. I was still rocking my PS1 with burned games and playing text based or nearly still image web games in the family PC that never knew what a GPU was.

I fear we are going to return to the PS2 days where nobody actually buy games (high profile at least), with the added benefit of indies and excellent free to play games, tho.
