I suspect we're seeing an overcorrection this week because of the last few weeks where people rushed to buy the console before the price hike. As time goes on the new price will become old news and the baseline will stabilize. |
It would make sense after so many rushed to get it that now there are fewer people actively looking for it for a while. Specially right after the price increases, that's when people would be not wanting to buy it, because we are always looking for getting a good deal.
We'll need to see how it goes, it's certainly quite a big price increase, which immediatly should lower the potential customers, but as it is, by far, the main product people will be looking for regardless, I do think some will simply accept the new price eventually.
Consumer behavior has proved many times that the desire to purchase move the breaking point of the potential sale quite a lot. Me included, even as I've always made sure to define a number as wait for the price to be there to mostly anything I buy, that number has increased considerably with time (it does merit to point that price increases and inflation spikes are WAY more common around here than most people on this forums are used to, so that plays a big role in having to deal with it as a reality).
