Hmm. That's tough. I wouldn't call my favourite systems having a style. I think a common style went away before 6th gen when things became too varied to see any system as having a style. For example, MGS2 versus Okami. Let's confine things to first party only and I would say PS4, the Uncharted style of ambience laid ontop of graphics and following the formula that the visuals get better the longer the game progresses , induces a state where your mind is tricked into being mind blown and I like that feeling, getting to the boat section in UC4 for example has an almost euphoric effect and then getting to that lost pirate city cements a feeling of generation leap only to have what feels like a tech demo for a future gen in the prolouge.
I'd say, 8th gen is also the most stable of gens with the game running the best, at least for Sony/MS and that feeling of stability helps.
