Metal Gear has nothing on this. Hell DS1 has nothing on this. Everytime you're invested in the world and all the weirdness becomes normality Kojima goes out of his way and you can tell he goes out of his way to break that immersion. It's laughable but that's exactly what he's going for, it's very much intentioned, he sets it up so you're in the middle of feeling something deeply and then bam, you go so fast to cringe you jump out of your seat, I've never played anything quite like it. It's certainly a rollercoaster but it's too far man, it's Too Farman. 😆but it's certainly cool, man. It's Coolman. |
I get that, but considering the main arc of the series ended with Guns of the Patriots, that was 17 years ago. Kojima could only go weirder and more absurd to top the arc of MGS lol. So going from that to DS1 and then DS2, you have to assume he would only try to top the weirdness of his other games. |
Yeah but the thing is the central plot here is actually tame, it's fairly simple, the weirdness comes in interruptions. Kind of hard to explain what I'm talking about, imagine being in the middle of watching the Sapranos and Tony just suddenly bursts into a song and dance number for no reason.
