A very poor comparison. A 3DS without a touchscreen would make a lot of 3DS games impossible to play. That's why it doesn't exist.
I had a DS lite where the touchscreen stopped working... at least I still could play GBA games with it.
How many of the 12,000+ Switch games would be impossible to play without a handheld mode? Less than 0.01% - 0.02%, the rest works fine with a Switch Pro controller. And since a "Switch 2 home" would support accessories like Joy-Con 1 and Joy-Con 2 controllers to be connected, you could even enhance the compatibility by buying/borrowing a Joy-Con.
