I'm highlighting the logic that you're forced to use something, you aren't plain and simple you can use something how you like regardless of what's in the package doesn't mean what you aren't using isn't key to the platform's success.

The people who only use it docked were forced to pay more for the mobile functionality though. The 3DS had six variants and the Switch is seemingly only getting three so people wanting Nintendo to have just one more Switch 2 variant compared to that is completely reasonable I'd say.
