Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (Platinum)
Monster Hunter Wilds

I beat Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, as well as got the platinum. The platinum was only a few hours extra of game time, and in total I only played for 43 hours. Basically a short and sweet game, probably wasn't worth the $70 though. It is fun and entertaining, it is just that these games often get a price cut soon after. The story kind of continues on from where you left off with the last game in the series but it is clearly a side story focused on Majime this time. He is very different due to his amnesia and of course the pirate theme comes into play, which is a lot of fun. This game made me smile more than anything in recent memory, with some genuinely hilarious moments. The ability to play your CDs while sailing is great, I just played Atlus songs all the time and made me want to play yet another Atlus game. Overall another great experience, but I will have to think twice about paying full price for the spinoffs.

I beat Monster Hunter Wilds. Now this game was also $70 for only 30 hours of content. Why? Because I skipped all of the pointless cutscenes and rushed through monsters like crazy. The story has you move to a new camp almost instantly after every monster if you skip the cutscenes. I am glad Capcom gave me the ability to skip cutscenes unlike Monster Hunter World, but it definitely made the experience a lot shorter. As for the important parts of the game, ie the monsters, I really enjoyed them, and although singleplayer was quite easy, I had a lot of fun playing most of the hunts with my friend in multiplayer. We carted a few times and even failed a hunt, so it isn't exactly the easiest game in the world, but I can see why people think it is easier than all the recent MH games. But to be honest the old MH games were quite difficult due to lack of fluid movement with your characters and lots of tedium. I prefer less tediousness and the more fluid character movement. One thing that is still tedious, is eating. Eating only lasts a certain amount of time and then you have to eat again, rather than it being per hunt, and in order to eat, you have to eat inside of your tent which is annoying. I preferred the cafe/restaurant eating in the previous games. The endgame grind at launch just wasn't there so I decided to give it a break until more major content comes out. Overall a fun game well worth the buy, but lacking content at present.

Wow, glad I skipped Wilds, usually one of those games has a significant end game but Pirate Yakuza is an easy first sale buy for me, Gaiden was so fun and at 40+ hours Pirate Yakuza is beefier but I understand why it doesn't feel worth full price even though it is only 59,99 here which is 63 dollars if I have the rough maths on that right, those games feel very AA and rarely innovate so they seem to stagnate to a dated feel even when a new entry had wild shit in it like 18th century Pirate crews headed by an absolute nut bag of a Yakuza.
