They didn't even put much importance on Pokemon in the Direct, the two most featured titles were Mario Kart and Donkey Kong at begin and end, and to a somewhat lesser degree Hyrule Warriors and Duskbloods. Pokemon got thrown in with a bunch of Switch games getting upgrade packs. This isn't their big holiday thing.

Did you hit your head or something? Pokémon Legends is a cross-gen title, already confirmed as such. This means it's releasing in a Switch 2 box and on a Switch 2 game card.

Did you hit your head or something? The big holiday title is mentioned in passing in explaining some titles getting an upgrade pack (and yes, as was explained at the beginning of the segment this includes a packaging for Switch 2) without bigger focus? Sure thing.
