Hmm. If I remember correctly it was Activision working with Atari that implemented high score records. MS creating an over arching score for an entire library was genius but they were ahead of their time like most things they do and Sony was able to take the idea and make something actually polished out of it. I don't think it is that you wish they hadn't created it them but it is that they haven't evolved them to make them all that they can be and curated them to make them sensible cause you can turn them off entirely and hide them from your account even avoiding simple things like allowing players to edit their avhievments and fully delete what they don't want, your stance would be like wishing Activision never did personalised high scores.
They have this idea and it's genius, it keeps players tied to an ecosystem and Sonys first party trophy support clearly shows they fully know how strong that tether is. It's something that can be really built upon but none of them will alter it since 2008 leaving us with these early ideas of a system akin to having 3 letters be the marker for your high score in the 80's.
