Yeah, you need to change up to fast insects, not sure where those are located in Wilds or how early they get to be speedy enough for fast moving monsters, you should still be able to get buffs though, just get closer. You can also change their element to and wether you want them blunt or to sever parts cause they should be out attacking and only back in your glaive to buff up again. Keep on grinding until you can get the speediest bugs possible, I see Wilds has a compressed campaign and unlocks so it shouldn't be much more than a few hours away to get insta buffs unless they changed it up from last MH games and trust me, it becomes second nature after a while and you'll end up getting the three buffs with9ut issue even on monsters you don't know, it just becomes intuitive and you pick up easily where the corresponding buffs are located, even if the don't have visual tells. Like red is usually the head or claws, yellow is usually the back and white is the feet or wings.
