Hm, I don't know...how many "Nintendo" gamers are they? 13.5 millions of us that bought WiiU? Bottom line, if they ever decide to go with Switch 2 Home, making games run better and/or look prettier than on a base console will be very easy and I think lot of folks can appreciate something running with crisper visuals, no matter the art style used in games - at least I do, and I'd say some not insignificant percent of customer base does. Is it profitable for them to make another system just to cater to us? No idea - I guess, time will tell. |
Wii U is seen as a pretty big failure though, so even if Nin could sell 100M SW2 hybrids and then another 15M powerhouse consoles, I personally don't see them going to the trouble. I do think the hybrid hardware in a console that's pushed to its limits, within reason, is a lot more likely vs a PS5 or XBSX contender.
PS1 - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.
PS2 - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.
PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
