I got a month of Crunchyroll and watched an unhealthy amount of anime, so I figured I'd post about it somewhere (even if this thread is dead):

Somali and the Forest Spirit: Cute character designs and some solid moments, but overall there just isn't enough meat here to make a good drama and there isn't enough enjoyment for slice of life. Ends up not really leaving much of an impact.

Kaguya-Sama: Love is War (Season 1): Fantastic show. The first few episodes didn't immediately click with me, but I quickly warmed up to it and it won me over. It is funny and it has heart. I'm excited to watch the rest.

Chihayafuru (Season 3): This was one of my favorite shows when S1+S2 came out over a decade ago. I'm thrilled that it is everything I remember and more. I need to get around to reading the manga.

Yu Yu Hakusho (Final Arc): The show overall was good. HxH is one of my favorite things and I can see some of the DNA in YYH, but it just doesn't hit as hard for me. The final arc felt mostly unnecessary. I didn't need these things to be settled and the plot/tournament felt kinda filler-y (which is weird for a finale). That said, I did like the last episode. That was nice.

A Sign of Affection: I knew nothing about this going in, but it was very sweet and sugary and I enjoyed my time.

Angel Beats: I can see why this is a classic. Not a 10/10, but its got some fun action, good twists and I cried at the end. As someone who is nostalgic for 2000s anime sometimes, this hit the spot.

ACCA-13: I feel like this show is enjoyable to watch moment to moment, but on a larger scale it just doesn't do anything for me. The climax was extremely anti-climactic and it felt like a lot of build to basically nothing. That said, it didn't have me invest much emotionally so I wouldn't call it a disappointment.

86: I would call it a disappointment. Not because I invested a ton emotionally, but my expectations were a lot higher. It's MAL score and amount of rating made it seem like it was one of the most popular recent shows, but I feel like it may be one of the most overrated shows of the last few years? Directing is weird, it doesn't give you enough to latch onto emotionally, the action is generally bad. Reminds me a lot of Aldnoah.Zero (which is not a compliment), but at least some of that action was fun and the music was good (although 86 feels a lot less insulting (mostly because it doesn't try to explain a lot of things)). Its not bad by any stretch, but it does not seem like it will leave a lasting impression.
