Why would they do that?  Are you unaware that Nintendo combined their handheld and console software production teams into 1 with a brand new HQ dedicated for that express purpose?

If Nin won't make a Switch home console, why would PS make a PS4 handheld (hybrid)?

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
