As I said before, XBox360 had no impact on PS2 sales.  It had quite a bit of an impact on PS3 sales.  Your argument that "Switch does not compete directly with Playstation and XBox" is not a good one.  When the XBox360 was released it did not compete with the PS2.  A person could have said "XBox360 does not compete with Playstation, therefore it won't compete with PS3".  That person would be dead wrong.

Let's put it this way.  If Scarlett came out this year, it wouldn't affect PS4 sales either.  Understand?  When Scarlett actually does release next year it also won't affect PS4 sales.  Does that mean that Playstation and XBox don't directly compete?

Yeah, that is right. But you have no data or basis either to claim that Switch and PS5 will compete. For the moment this is just unclear. We can speculate. Extrapolating from the current gen is one way. Another is to use logical conclusions. But either way: we don't know until it will release.
