Google tells me you can use a 2k account for cloud saving on PC, so maybe same on Switch.

Eugh, boring. OK, it makes sense if you have the game for multiple devices and want to continue your session you started on Switch on your iPad. But for me it makes no sense to link this account then. Thanks for the info.
