Because this information hurts the world-view of PS-fans and Nintendo-haters. The posters here might be in one camp, not necessarily in both. The PS-world view contains: PS is the best place for games and therefore games sell the best on PS. The Nintendo-haters world-view contains: only Nintendo-fans buy Nintendo-consoles and Nintendo-fans only buy Nintendo-games or ones with Mario in it. So this news contradicts both world-views and therefore they keep commenting.
