My guess is that Nintendo and Microsoft, despite being on opposite sides, will make crossplay a huge thing with more multiplatform games and force animosity on Sony. With how resentful people on the internet can be, they won't make Sony forget this even until the next-gen reveal. Even if this is really petty from Sony, gotta give it to them for taking this stand and not folding like a cheap suit. |
I don't think this will have a lasting effect on Sony. But hopefully it establishes cross-play as industry standard.
