Sony simply has better representation also in smaller countries. That is even true for europe. There was this polish user, that said that Nintendo didn't have a rep in Poland, and that leads in the end to lesser units in shops and lesser support for user buying a Nintendo device. Sony has built over the years much more sales connections. This is a good thing for Sony, because they sell more electronics than just Playstation.
