Doesn't matter on sales. The point is if you are a fan of MH, and own an Xbox, you have just as much reason to celebrate as a PS fan. I only have been on this site, but been reading from people who go to others that MH fansites are not very excited. I think its a mix of wanting it on Switch (portability) and the leaker of this game also leaked the game was dumbed down and had lots of QTE's. So as I said, gaming sites are jumping for joy and hyping this as amazing. You know all these peopel who probably never played a Monster Hunter game. But MH is not a big seller outside Japan. Like what half a million at most on their best selling game, most the time half that even. I feel the excitement is more of a "We won E3 with this megaton announcement" over any excitement for the actual game. I've played a MH game, it is not a casual friendly game. It requires a ton of grinding and time consuming and hours of dedication to take down like one beast. That is not how western gamers like to play. I imagine a western gamer sees a trailer for this and expects to go and hack and slash his way through troves of dinasaurs and dragons killing them like a boss. They are in for a rude awakening, UNLESS as the leak suggest Capcom dumbed down the game and this MH is made for westerners in mind. |
Well, if the leak is true on the dumb down thing, than it is disappointing, no question. I love MonHun, and I love the grinding, the preparing, the excitement of the battle, learning the beasts moves and so on. If that goes away, than MonHun becomes irrelevant for me. But so far the dumb down thing isn't anything official. Let's wait for more gameplay-trailers. What I saw in the trailer at E3 was: swimming is back, seemingly stealth options are added, swinging along ropes is added. That does not look like dumbing down.
