Yeah, maybe. As I say: mystery.
Actually it could make sense(not that that means NIntendo actually did it): the current games are Zelda and Mario Kart. Both series are very popular in the west. Maybe after or around Splatoon less units are shipped to america and europe to get more Switches to Japan.
Well, I don't know.
