The funny thing for me is that the main reason I'd like to have a Switch is so that I can play the type of Japanese RPGs the 3DS and Vita had on my television. I've realized that I'm just not going to carry a dedicated gaming system around with me and I simply do not enjoy playing on a tiny screen when I'm at home.

Other than Zelda and perhaps a few other games, Nintendo's typical home console catalog does nothing for me. The 3DS catalog did interest me quite a bit but I'm just not a fan of handhelds. When the price goes down, it's probably going to be on my radar.

Honestly, the price is probably the only real problem with it being a great candidate for a "second system".

Beforehand my strongest interest in Switch was Monster Hunter. I like handhelds and handheld games and have opportunity to play on the train, or while staying at my parents, but while mostly I do not care much about downgraded graphic it did really hurt with Monster HUnter. Not really the graphic as whole, but the resolution. In Monster Hunter seeing stuff further away is cool, and MH3G in HD was doing a lot for me. MH4G felt like a big downgrade, being reduced to 3DS. So I hope for MonHUn for Switch.

This is probably similar to your reason. And the Switch will work that way. It goes both ways: home console experience on the go and handheld games on the big screen. That's pretty cool. I can't await the inevitable release of MonHun.
